BankSync alternative

Looking for a BankSync alternative?

BankSync sends bank data to Google Sheets and to other tools, including Notion and databases. BudgetSheet does one destination: a Google Sheet you own. Paid plans start at $6 a month. Autofetch runs once a day, at a time you choose.

Best BankSync alternatives in 2026

Use this page if Google Sheets is the whole requirement. If you also need Notion or a warehouse, BankSync is aimed at that and we are not. Prices checked 30 October 2026. Confirm on the vendor site before you buy.

Why people switch

BudgetSheet is the narrower tool. That is the point if the spreadsheet is where the budget already lives.

One destination, on purpose

BankSync is a router: Sheets, Notion, Airtable, databases, webhooks. BudgetSheet writes to Google Sheets and stops there. If the sheet is your personal finance database, a second system is extra surface area. You keep formulas, charts, custom columns, and any AI tool that can open the file. BudgetSheet finds columns by heading name, so you can reorder the sheet and add as many custom columns as you need. We do not own the rows and we do not make you view them in our app.

A simple monthly bill

Basic is $6 a month or $59 a year for up to five accounts, with Autofetch once a day, at a time you choose, on the paid plan. BankSync’s starter pricing has been published near $5 a month for one bank on a weekly schedule, with daily sync on a higher tier. Read both pricing pages in the same sitting. The products are not priced per identical unit.

The add-on lives in the sheet

You install BudgetSheet from the Google Workspace Marketplace and run it from the Extensions menu. Fetch, sync, categories, and Autofetch are sidebar actions on the spreadsheet. There is no separate finance app to learn. That is a worse fit if you wanted a polished mobile budget, and a better fit if the sheet is the habit.

AI without an export step

Because the transactions are ordinary cells, Gemini and Claude can analyze them through whatever Google Sheets connection you already use. You do not export a CSV from a vendor portal first. BankSync’s own MCP is a different path, aimed at people who want the vendor in the loop. Both can be valid. Ours assumes the sheet is the system of record.

Where BankSync still wins

BankSync is the right product when the sheet is only one stop.

Destinations that are not Sheets

Notion, Airtable, Postgres, and webhooks are outside our scope. If a bookkeeper or a script needs the feed in a database, BankSync is built for that list and BudgetSheet will not grow into it. Do not pick us and then plan a second pipe.

Banks outside Plaid’s main markets

BudgetSheet uses Plaid. In practice that means US and Canadian institutions. BankSync publishes additional providers for the UK, Australia, and other countries. If your bank is outside Plaid, a BudgetSheet trial will not fix that.

A weekly plan that can cost less

Their lowest published monthly price has undercut Basic when the limit is one bank and the schedule is weekly. We are not automatically the cheap option. We are the option with a daily Sheets import at a time you choose, and five accounts on the $6 plan. Check the current BankSync tier before you decide on price alone.

Frequently asked questions

Is BankSync only for Google Sheets?
No. Google Sheets is one destination. BankSync also publishes Notion, Airtable, databases, and webhooks. BudgetSheet is only a Google Sheets add-on. Choose BankSync when the data has to land in more than one system. Choose BudgetSheet when the spreadsheet is the system.
Does BudgetSheet support banks outside the United States?
Coverage follows Plaid, which for BudgetSheet means US and Canadian institutions in practice. BankSync publishes connections beyond that, including the UK and Australia. Search the supported-bank list before you install either product. A missing bank is not something a higher plan fixes.
How much does BudgetSheet cost next to BankSync?
BudgetSheet Basic is $6 a month or $59 a year for up to five accounts, with Autofetch once a day, at a time you choose. BankSync has published a starter near $5 a month for one bank and a weekly schedule, and a higher tier for daily sync. Those numbers move. Open both pricing pages. Do not treat a blog post, including this one, as the invoice.
Can I use Gemini on data that BudgetSheet imported?
Yes. The import lands in your Google Sheet, and that file is yours. Gemini can read a Sheet you give it access to. Claude can do the same through a Sheets connection. BudgetSheet does not sit in the middle of that request and does not require you to buy an AI add-on from us.
