SheetLink alternative
Looking for a SheetLink alternative?
SheetLink and BudgetSheet both put bank transactions in Google Sheets. SheetLink’s published Sheets sync is manual, and the free tier keeps seven days of history. BudgetSheet Autofetch runs once a day on paid plans, at a time you choose, and you can pay $6 a month.
Best SheetLink alternatives in 2026
SheetLink is often cheaper on the annual Pro plan, and it has a free tier we do not. A daily import at a time you choose, and a sheet you control, are the reasons to look at BudgetSheet. Prices checked 30 October 2026. Confirm on the vendor site before you buy.

Why people switch
Switch when you want the import to run without a click, and when you want the sheet to stay a normal database. Stay when the free tier or Excel matters more.
A daily import instead of a button
BudgetSheet Autofetch runs once a day and writes new transactions into the sheet. You pick the clock time, or leave an automatic overnight window. You can still fetch a date range yourself. SheetLink’s published Google Sheets flow is manual: you press Sync now. They argue that you control when the bank is read. That is a real preference. It is also a chore if you wanted the sheet to update on a schedule without opening the sidebar.
The sheet stays yours
Both products say they do not keep your transaction history as their database. BudgetSheet’s version of that promise is specific: the Google Sheet is the personal finance database, and we do not own, control, or gatekeep it. Build any layout. Add as many custom columns as you need. BudgetSheet finds each one by heading name and writes into the columns it recognizes. Point Gemini or Claude at the sheet. There is no BudgetSheet report you have to export first.
Five accounts on the entry paid plan
Basic is five accounts for $6 a month or $59 a year. SheetLink’s free plan is one bank and seven days of history. Their Pro plan is cheaper per year than our Basic annual price, at about $49, and it is the plan that lifts the one-bank limit. Compare the free tier with our trial, not with Basic. They are different offers.
A budget you already built
If the spreadsheet is already the budget, a feed that appends rows is enough. Setup creates only the core data sheets. Templates are included and install with one click afterward, even with no paid plan, and they stay out until you add them. You do not have to adopt a second budgeting method to see the transactions. Those rows are categorized automatically, and you can override the defaults with your own match patterns or categories.
Where SheetLink still wins
SheetLink wins on price for some setups. Say that plainly before the trial.
A permanent free tier
SheetLink’s free plan is one bank and the last seven days, with no card. BudgetSheet’s free period is a 15-day trial and then it stops. If you only need a week of one account and you will press Sync yourself, their free tier is the better offer. We do not match it.
A lower annual Pro price
SheetLink Pro is about $49 a year. BudgetSheet Basic is $59 a year. If you are paying annually, want every bank, and prefer to sync by hand, Pro can cost less than Basic. Our case is the scheduled daily import and the monthly option, not a claim that every paid plan is cheaper.
Excel and a database export
Pro and Max include an Excel add-in. Max also writes to Postgres and SQLite and exposes a Claude MCP server. BudgetSheet does not do Excel, and it does not ship a database destination. The sheet is the destination on purpose.
Frequently asked questions
- Is SheetLink free?
- SheetLink publishes a free tier: one bank and your last seven days, no card. Paid Pro is about $4.99 a month or $49 a year. BudgetSheet does not have a permanent free bank connection. The trial is 15 days with one bank, and then Basic is $6 a month or $59 a year.
- Does SheetLink sync automatically?
- On the Google Sheets product they describe in 2026, you press Sync now. They call that a privacy choice, because the bank is read when you ask. BudgetSheet can do a manual fetch too, and Autofetch also runs once a day on paid plans, at a time you choose, so the sheet is current without that click.
- Which is cheaper, SheetLink or BudgetSheet?
- SheetLink’s free tier is cheaper than anything we sell, because it is free. SheetLink Pro at about $49 a year is cheaper than Basic at $59 a year. BudgetSheet Basic at $6 a month is in the same range as Pro’s $4.99 monthly price, with a daily import at a time you choose included. Pick the bill that matches how you want the data to arrive.
- Can Claude read a BudgetSheet spreadsheet?
- Yes, if you connect Claude to that Google Sheet. The rows are normal sheet data, and BudgetSheet does not hold a second copy you would have to export. SheetLink Max has its own Claude connector. You do not need a Max-style add-on for Gemini or Claude to read a BudgetSheet file you already own.
